A girlfriend's expectations are sky high. Until a scandalous text message upends the whole relationship.

Then, a stabbing changes everything.

This is Manny and the Mistresses, the debut novel by Gabriel Ruesso

Ria Segundo is a dry-witted greeting card designer, who suspects her boyfriend Manny might propose on their anniversary trip to Iceland. She’s right. But as he pops the question, a text message reveals that Manny is having an affair.

The couple returns home with their relationship shattered, as Ria learns that Manny wasn’t just cheating with one person, but a whole slate of secret lovers.

Before she can confront him, though, Manny is found murdered, stabbed in the heart in what looks to be a kinky crime of passion.

It isn’t long before the police zero in on Ria as the prime suspect. But Ria is convinced it must have been one of Mistresses that Manny cheated on her with.

The suspects?

  • A gloating redhead with supermodel good looks,

  • A coworker of Ria’s that she could have never expected,

  • And Manny’s peppy childhood friend that Ria can’t help but feel attraction toward.

For fans of the romantic antics of The Husbands, the heartbroken violence of The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club, and the dark humor of Big Swiss.
